I like big weapons, I cannot lie
If you like to take big swings and see massive numbers, or stun and cleave stacks of enemies, you might like one of the following archetypes.
Archetypes with big weapons
Destroyer
The Destroyer is a classic bruiser clad in medium weight armour and bearing two big slow weapons – the War Hammer, a crowd control and rending beast, and the Great Axe, perfect for grouping and cleaving droves of enemies.
This is a pure melee role so you will always be in the thick of the fight or running to get there while your ranged pals pick off the mobs.

Armoring
Use this with your leather skills to make basic medium armour.
Skinning
You have a head start on which beasts you can skin.
Leatherworking
You will be able to make tier 2 Coarse Leather immediately.
Swordbearer
The oversized Greatsword of the Swordbearer swings slightly faster than the Destroyer’s, and he also gets some variety with his short-ranged Blunderbuss. You can choose between offensive or defensive Greatsword skills to suit your combat needs.
If you like shotguns and think you’ll be heading into PVP-land in the end game, this could be the archetype for you.

Cooking
While 50 cooking doesn’t unlock much, it gives you a headstart to a useful skill.
Fishing
If you need to take some time out from all the blood and sweat, try fishing. It’s really chill.
Leatherworking
You can make some leather for your Destroyer pal.
