Levelling tips

So you want to hit 65 as fast as you can?

The pathway to level 65 is pretty straightforward in New World, and I hope you like questing. Basically, you’re going to follow the Main Story Quest (MSQ) all the way from the starter beach to Brimstone Sands. You should hit max level around here, and then you’ll want to continue the questline so you can unlock Elysian Wilds and get the coveted final rewards.

A couple of side steps to speed you on your way

While sticking to your Main Story Quest is the fastest way to get to max level, there are a few things you should do on the way to make it even faster.

Mount quest

When you get to level 20, head to north Everfall and complete the short My Kingdom for a Mount quest to unlock your mount. You might also want to run a couple of the races to improve your riding level, as this makes you ride faster.

Faction quest

On your way to do the mount quest, consider picking up the faction quest and joining a faction. It’s a relatively short quest, and once you complete it you can run one faction mission for tokens and you’ll have enough to buy the level 20 faction armour, which allows you to choose the correct weight for each slot so you have an optimised equip load.

Tips!

There are a few more things you should do to make life easier.

Set your inn when you get to town

This will give you instant travel back to safety no matter where you are in the world, every 5 minutes. Recalling can save a lot of time if the quest hand-in is far away.

Buy a tier 2 house in your starter zone

Owning a home gives you an additional recall, and this one can have the cooldown removed if you pay a little azoth. Houses can also have trophies placed in them, which increases your damage, meaning you kill things faster. As soon as you get 10 standing in your starter zone, buy a Tier 2 house there (check this article for the town maps to see which houses are T2 and learn more about the first home discount, how to raise standing, and more).

Build camps

Before you attempt any difficult content, place a tent so you can respawn close by if things go badly. It’s always good to pick up some flint and green wood and keep them on you for this purpose.

Make your choice!
