Next Quest: Basic Needs
This quest forms part of the beginner tutorial, as you first enter Aeternum. There are tips on how to perform basic actions while you discover yourself and a damaged Captain Thorpe as sole survivors of the shipwreck that washed you up on the island. As Thorpe begins to change into something else, it’s all up to you to discover the secrets of this New World.
Tips and tricks
There are two shipwreck locations for starter characters – Windsward and Monarch’s Bluff. It doesn’t really matter which one you do, and eventually both paths will merge into one questline. However, if you are playing with a friend, you might want to reroll until you make sure you are both at the same beach.
If you don’t want to reroll, you can run to your friend’s location on the map. My character in the video landed in Monarch’s Bluff, and to test for myself, I ran to Windsward. Lleyson Reese somehow beat me there and had the quest rewards available, ready for me to take up the quest in the new location. It took about 10 minutes to run over. I also gained a couple of levels in the process, just from discovering new landmarks on the way. You can see my path on the map below (pink line):
