Beat on Baalphazu!
Nighthaven release comes with the return of the thematically appropriate Nightveil Hallow event. The rewards from this Event Shop are some of the best in the game, especially for new players to collect. This is where you get the Jack-o-Lantern’s Smile pumpkin head skin, and the fun Possessed Walk emote. Plus, we have a range of new skins available this season! Event patterns have been uplevelled to 750GS and Chromatic Seals are available every 3 days. So, let’s get into how we can trick our way to all these treats!
- Recommended Level: 65+
- Recommended group size: 20
- Runs from October 16 to 26
A Simple Quest
You can get a huge chunk of event reputation if you do the quest offered by Salvatore the Mad, who stands outside any Nightveil Cauldron, in each player settlement.
You’ll need to be Level 35 to start this quest.
All you need to do is go and kill Baalphazu to receive an Ichor, then place the Ichor in a cauldron in any settlement, and that completes the quest. Completing the quest unlocks the event shop.
Kill Baalphazu
Killing Baalphazu is the main way you get tokens, and you can kill him as many times as you like.
To find Baalphazu, just check your map. There should be a purple and white symbol. You should be able to find him in Brightwood, Ebonscale Reach, Mourningdale or Weaver’s Fen.
Look for the icon on the map and post “X WB” or “X Baalphazu” to get an invite to the Raid and see where everyone is. If the icon is pulsing, someone is at the event.
Baalphazu will drop:
- Armour 5x daily
- Costumes 3x daily
- Ichor
The Fight
This fight is fairly straightforward. You need to first clear the Pumpklings, then Baalphazu will spawn. When a Pumpkling dies, it leaves a pumpkin head on the ground. Pick up the head and throw it at Baalphazu to drop his stamina. Once he is down, everyone should pile on to do massive damage.
Baalphazu doesn’t have any really challenging moves or hit too hard, but he’s really tanky. So it’s important to get his stamina down or the fight can go for a long time.
Nightveil Cauldron
There’s a Nightveil Cauldron in every settlement, near the centre of town. Once you have some Ichor, you can drop it in the Cauldron for rewards. Each Ichor grants a Nightveil Cache, which can contain:
- 7-13 Nightveil Tokens
- Random Neightveil Hallow weapon pattern
- Coin Bag (max 3 per day)
- Diamond Gypsum
Event Shop
Once you have some tokens, you can spend them in the Event shop. There’s a new skin set to collect, with a pumpklin theme, and some more appropriately grotesque masks, as well as old favourites. The Possessed Walk is a must-have emote. Chromatic Seals are available every 3 days for 8 tokens
Nightveil Patterns
The new Nightveil Legendary 750GS Patterns roll Bind on Pickup armour with Wellness, Health, and Enchanted Ward, and a random third perk. The Epic patterns that require craft skill and materials roll with Wellness, Health, and two random perks, and are Bind on Equip, so you can sell them.
The armor appearances are the same for all weights of armour.
The 750GS Legendary weapons have Acutely Empowered, Flame Attunement, and Lifestealing, and the Epic ones have Acutely Empowered and Flame Attunement.
Costumes and Candy
For the less violent among us, you can get tokens by dressing up and playing treasure hunt. When you don one of the Costumes, it lasts 30 minutes and allows you to collect the candy baskets hidden around the settlements. The costumes allow you to dress up as:
- Captain Thorpe
- Adiana
- Anubian Reaver
- Lost Monarch
The baskets have a chance of containing:
- Baalphazu armor (10% chance)
- 2 Nightveil Tokens
- Mystery Candy (4 varieties)
Candy effects
Each candy gives a different effect.
- Corrupted Jelly Beans – grants glowing red eyes for 5 mins
- Angry Earth Candy Fish – transforms you into a fish for 5 mins
- Ancient Grizzly Gummies – increases the amount of Nightveil tokens you get by 100% for 5 mins
- Lost Black Licorice – adds global loot luck 0.15%, gathering luck 20%, and 2% extra items when refining
Have fun and don’t eat too many sweets!
