Create your own Recipe
Check out the official New World discord competition to create your own sustainable recipe for Aeternum. This is a fun opportunity to leave a footprint in our online world, and one that helps rather than harms the environment. Competition ends 25 September, so hurry!
Simmering Sustainability
Time to put on your thinking chef hat and design a recipe of your own. It needs to include:
- Your character name
- A creative name for the food and recipe
- A recipe lore note
- Ingredients available in Aeternum
- Demonstrate sustainability
Do not use any trademarks or brand names!
Having an item of your creation appear in the game world would be amazing! Good luck everyone.

Cook up your most creative recipe for a sustainable food dish in Aeternum.
Amazon Games and New World are taking part in the 2024 Playing for the Planet Green Game Jam. We are excited to give our players an opportunity to compete to design a future cooking dish for the game, with sustainability in mind. While resources in Aeternum may respawn infinitely, in the real world we must consider the environmental impact of all of our choices.

From the Green Game Jam Website: The production and consumption of sufficient, affordable and nutritious food, while conserving the natural resources and ecosystems on which food systems depend, is vital. Our food system is responsible for 30% of carbon emissions (UN) and is the primary driver of biodiversity collapse (UNEP). How can we make small changes to the way we eat to drive demand for more sustainable food sources? Help to bring a new sustainable food option to Aeternum by submitting your idea for a new cooking recipe.
How to participate:
- Use the template below to design a recipe for New World.
- Print or digitally edit the document, filling in all of the sections with your own original content.
- Upload your completed recipe to this thread by September 25. Each person may submit up to 5 entries. Include the hashtag: #NewWorldRecipeContest
- Members of the development and community team will chose 4 finalist recipes.
- A Discord poll will be posted in announcements on September 27 for players to vote for the final winning recipe.
- The recipe with the most votes at the close of the poll on September 30 will be the winner, to be added to New World: Aeternum in a future game update. Please note, any status effect from the item will be determined by the development team based upon what is possible and balanced in game. Changes to text may be made due to grammar.
