Welcome to Season 4

This Season, we’ll see a continuation of the Silver Crows storyline and a new expedition – the Glacial Tarn. The Season Pass is back, with both free and premium rewards to earn through season XP.

After noticing the difference in the speed players were able to complete seasons, we’ve included a guide on how to level Season XP quickly using Activity Cards. We also list all the tasks for the Journey Chapters and Challenges, and have marked the ones we think are easiest to complete. Finally, we have a list of all the Rewards, so you can look ahead and see what you’d like to get, and whether you think the Premium track is worth it for you.

Activity Cards and how to level fast

Stamping activity cards can be a fun mini-game, especially with the addition of the Bonus Stamps and incentive to find the most efficient way to use them. Filling a whole card is extremely satisfying!

The Season XP you get this time around has been halved, but to be fair, it was too fast last season so let’s hope this is the right balance. Instead of 100 XP per stamp, you get 50; instead of 500 XP per line you get 250; and instead of 300 per completed card, you get 150 Season XP.

If you don’t get a lot of time to play and would really like to complete the Season Pass, there’s a good guide on r/newworldgame. But otherwise, if you check your card periodically, use your Bonus Stamps strategically, and do a little activity stacking, you should be able to complete this without a grind.

Note: a lot of people get confused looking for the season-specific Frostbound Varangians and Ice Wolves. You can find the wolves in Great Cleave outside the Glacial Tarn expedition, and the Frostbound Varangians are inside the Glacial Tarn itself or on Ice Castle Island. If you don’t know where that is, follow the Season Questline and it will take you there.

Using Bonus Stamps

You get bonus stamps while playing the game, as well as by completing a line on your Activity Card. If you strategically place your stamps, you can use the extra bonus from the line to make another line, until the whole card is filled. It’s still worth optimising task combos to get the stamps on faster but you can also just do this by checking the card as you go about your regular activities.

Some good Task combos

Kill Enemies with Bows and Guns + Kill Enemies in Two-Handed Combat + Skin Tier 5 Animals + Gather Tier 5 Resource Nodes can be done at any T5 animal spawn location.
Kill Beasts + Kill Scorpions + Kill Enemies with Magic + Kill Enemies in the Beds of Ta-Bitjet
Close 1 Minor Breach + Kill Corrupted + Kill Enemies in One-Handed Combat

You get the idea. You should supply yourself with 4 weapons – 1-handed, 2-handed, a magic weapon and a bow or gun. Look for places close to fast travel shrines to reduce time taken. You can quite often stay in one place for a few cards.
Of course, activities are not always going to align perfectly. Just do the best with what you have and reroll if you need to.

Some Easy Tasks

Craft Gypsum Orbs – save your gypsum and craft one orb each time this comes up
Complete Town Project Missions – if you carry some potions, food and bait on you, these can be often be instantly completed.
Play songs. If you play Call of the Ancients Second Flute, it’s very quick and easy
Participate in Duels. If you have a friend, you can do this very quickly.
Salvage Tier 5 items. Level 65 PVE players will have an endless supply of these.
Craft Tier 5 Consumables. If you make your own consumables anyway, just do them 10 at a time when this comes up.
Refine 50 Tier 5 Resources. If you gather and refine anyway, just refine your Tier 5 resources 50 at a time.
Use Tier 5 coatings. This can be a bit expensive, so it’s up to you whether you have more time or money.
Loot 1 Elite Chest. There are a few elite chests at locations close to fast travel shrines, such as the two near Wurmsign Obelisk.

For the PVPers

If you prefer PVP, you can still get a few tasks done in Outpost Rush.

There are also more opportunities for open world kills and PVP XP with the new Influence races.

The Journey

The best XP can be earned via the Journey. You get from 850 to 3000 XP per Task and 4500 for completing a Chapter. You don’t need to do every Task to complete a Chapter, so once again you should focus on the easier ones to complete.

Doing the Season Questline is an easy way to pick up some of the Chapter tasks, as well as the rewards from the quest itself. Many of the tasks are cumulative, so the 4 PvP Arena matches you won in Chapter 2 also contribute to the 20 you need in Chapter 5.

The Rewards

The Season Pass has a range of rewards available for you as you level. You get the rewards on the Free track simply by earning Season XP, but will need to pay 20,000 Marks of Fortune to access the Premium Track Rewards. If you buy the Premium Track after you have already leveled some or all of the Season Pass, you will get the rewards for all the levels you have completed.

We’re seeing some streamlining of rewards which leads to 16,000 less Dense Mutator Materia, 500 less Gold Coins on the free track, and 6 less XP boosters. Expedition-specific materia has been reduced by 500 and now comes in grouped chests with no other resources.

But they have added Faction Tokens and 10 extra Gypsum Orbs. These should come in handy for the new Gyspum caches that cost 20 Orbs and grant 1500 gold and 250 Dark Matter once a week.

You also get 5 extra Vials of Azoth Salt across the free and premium tracks, which will help out a small degree toward those stuck on a PVP track level until they can afford the artifact. The Superior Materials chests have a boost too, containing 10 of each Tier 5 2 mat instead of 2, and appearing three extra times on the track, including level 99. Premium users will also get 6 of each prismatic mat in total, which adds up to just under 7k gold value in today’s Delos prices. Plus there are five more skins than last season.
