Not a lot happening this month on the game front, with no new updates from the wishlist announced. There’s a bit of a cosy chat with Katy about motorbike riding and hopes for the future of MMOs. I’ve also noticed David McKenzie has added some more replies to his AMA on the r/newworldgame subreddit.

About Achievements
One cohort who have continued playing since the announcement are the achievement hunters. Some of New World’s achievements have grueling requirements, and I think 100% for in-game achievements is beyond most people. Steam achievements are possible, though, and that’s what most are aiming for.
The team have worked on granting impossible achievements, like First Light territory standing, and also given away some achievements that were bugged, like war wins. Now people are demanding they are given achievements that are “too hard” to get through gameplay, including the OPR wins.
The thing is, they’re not really achievements if you don’t earn them. I appreciate that if bugs or game changes make it impossible to earn the achievement legitimately, then those can be granted. But it is possible to get the OPR wins, if people try. Outpost Rush may not be popping often on Delos, but region transfer is free and it does pop on Valhalla. You don’t need to be individually good at PVP to get a win.
I could spend the rest of my limited time running OPRs to get my final achievements. But I’d rather be decorating my houses, or trying to catch 10,000 fish. Having every Steam achievement except OPR wins says more about my New World experience than making myself miserable in order to 100% it would.
