I'll cry if I want to
It was New World’s 5th Birthday this month, which went off with more of a fizzle than pop, given the death sentence. No word from the devs but some shared birthday wishes whispered through the community. The big news is that we do have a list for the next installment of QoL updates, althouth no concrete date about when they’ll be in. It’s been quiet in Aeternum, with news of the flourishing of other worlds drawing friends away.

Upcoming Update
While we don’t have a date, we do have a list. It’s not a huge amount but it is something and will be great if they can get all these items working.
- Ultimate trophies will stack across all five houses
- Common perk charm materials will be weightless – my storage really wants this one
- Merc limits for wars will be removed
- Catacombs rewards will be increased
- Repeatable rewards for Isle of Night will be increased
- Repairs and Maximum caliber achievements should be addressed (this should already be live)
The scope and time delay on the list really highlights how small the team is and how much weight Evolys (and anyone else who left since) must have been pulling. I’ve prepared all my major trophies for the Ultimates update in faith that it will work.
Something else I’ve noticed lately, is that rain and lightning effects have been added to the area under Siren’s in Reekwater. So I wonder what else has been pushed server side that we don’t know about.
New World's 5th Birthday
September 28 was New World’s fifth birthday and some loyal Aeterniuns got together to celebrate this bittersweet affair. Five years is a milestone and I can only imagine how exciting this could have been if development was allowed to continue.

New World Community Nostalgia Day
28 October 2025 was the date of the fateful annoucement, damning New World to closure.
On 28 October 2026, players are invited to get back online for a day and reminisce about old times.
