Scarab crafts and Bug fixes!
We’ve got a patch incoming at 6pm Delos server time today, with a huge update to end-game crafting, some changes to reduce the Winter Warrior grind, and fixes for some of the more bothersome bugs. The server should be down for an hour, and get ready for your 45GB download.
No more Chromatic Seal crafts
In huge news for crafters, Chromatic Seals are being removed as a requirement for Golden Scarab crafts. Instead, we’ll need 3 Scarabs and a Matrix, all of which are Bind on Equip. This means company crafting for mats is back, so please let me know if you need anything made!
Commercial crafters who made their gold selling Seal crafts are, of course, disappointed. They are left sitting on stockpiles of Seals and no market to sell them in. I guess they won’t have to worry about being able to afford Artifact upgrades for a very long time.
Winter Warrior Grind Gone
If you’ve missed the huge and endless Winter Warrior train in a grind for almost impossible amounts of tokens, you’re lucky! The good news is, that grind is over, the bad news is that you can no longer get as many tokens as you’re willing to try for. There’s a hard cap of 6 premium tokens daily now (or 10 if you have spare Hailspikes left over), so I guess more people might head out to find some Gleamite or actually pick up the Lost Presents.
To be honest, I’m happy, the grind was killing me. But I can hear the crying coming, especially due to the limit on converting additional Warrior’s Hailspikes. What’s that about?

Bug Fixes
The furniture bug is due to be fixed, thank goodness. I was worried that since it didn’t impact PVP, the devs may not prioritize it. There are also some fixes to allow quests progress, and the highly desired Frigid Dawn armour from the Glacial Tarn will now be upgradeable.
Prime Gaming Loot
I think we’re resigned to the fact that this is just crap now. Remember when we used to get cool skins? At least we should be able to see the furniture in houses after the update, so the bed is not entirely wasted!
This lot will be available from December 20 until January 23. You may as well pick up your:
- 10 Vials of Suspended Azoth
- 50 Dark Matter
- 5 Gypsum Orbs
- 10 Powerful Proficiency Boost potions
- Verdant High Bed
- Round Standing Lantern

New World Update 4.0.1 downtime will begin at 11:00PM PT (6:00AM UTC) on December 18 and last approximately 1 hour. It includes recipe and cost changes for Golden Scarab crafts, plus changes to Warrior’s Hailspikes. You can also look forward to the Ronin’s Shadow Cache Prime Gaming Loot. GOLDEN SCARAB CRAFTS
Adjusted the recipes and costs for Golden Scarab crafts:
Recipes no longer require a Chromatic Seal.
Recipes will now require 3 Golden Scarabs instead of 1.
Recipes will now require 1 Matrix that matches the item type:
Armor Matrix for Armor or Bags.
Weapon Matrix for Weapons or Tools.
Jewelry Matrix for Jewelry.
Prismatic Blocks will now require 1 Powerful Gemstone Dust instead of 2.
Blessed Rivets will now require 15 Powerful Gemstone Dust instead of 25.
WINTER WARRIOR
We have changed how players get Winter Tokens from the Winter Warrior.
Players will now get 1 Warrior’s Hailspike per kill with a cap of 3 daily.
Warrior’s Hailspikes will now convert to 2 Premium Winter Tokens up from 10 normal Tokens.
This will allow players to get 6 premium Winter Tokens daily or the equivalent of 150 normal Tokens.
For players with additional Winter’s Hailspikes, up to 5 can be converted daily.
Our goal is provide a valuable amount of daily Tokens while reducing the need for players to spend time farming the Winter Warrior. Players who want more tokens can continue to engage with holiday trees in towns as well as gather Gleamites and presents throughout Aeternum.
NOTABLE FIXES
The selection mode and HUD UI will now immediately change when turning off the option to target members of your own raid group with a Life Staff.
Fixed an issue that prevented Wars from being scheduled.
Fixed an issue that allowed players to set any regular Expedition as Mutated.
Fixed an issue that allowed players to acquire Mutated loot through regular Expeditions.
Fixed an issue that caused housing decorations to take an excessively long time to appear.
Fixed an issue that prevented progress on the quest, “Voices of the Desert”.
Removed vine walls in Edengrove that blocked progression for the quest “The Wizard’s Trial”.
Fixed an issue that caused the Frigid Dawn armor upgrade recipes to not appear at the Gypsum Kiln.
Fixed an issue that could cause the game client to crash.
Fixed an issue that could cause the game server to crash, resulting in sudden player disconnections
